Thanks for your input Jo. Graceland is a very beautiful cemetery. I've only been to Graceland a few times. Its been several years since I've been there. As for adding other cemeteries to the list by all means feel free to do it :-). Being that I've never been to cemeteries in Europe. One of these days, hopefully in my lifetime, I'll be able to experience them.

Hey Jo, its great to hear from you. Being that I've got family who live in the westside suburbs. I try to visit Chicago every few years. Being that I live in the Detroit area. Chicago is a short plane, or train ride from Detroit. Anyway you'd be pleasantly surprised to find out how many "reputed" Chicago mobsters are buried in Mount Carmel. Due to the on going research I'm engaging in. Every time I visit that particular cemetery I usually find someone new.

GREAT list! Out of all of these, I've only visited Graceland, although some of the others are on a wishlist.

May I add a few others to your list? Camposanto Monumentale in Pisa, Italy is wonderful, as as the island of San Michele in Venice (Cemetery Island). Also, Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, KY is huge and beautiful. :)

Hi! Thanks for visiting Marble Towns -- and now, I'm enjoying reading your posts! :) I live in the Chicago area, and am a Chicago history buff, so I really liked reading this post. In fact, I've got Mount Carmel on my list to visit during the Spring --- now that I'm taking more photos and getting more into this hobby, I'd like another visit. I think it's cool that you make visits to Chicago --- so many wonderful cemeteries to see!

Laëtitia, thank you so much for commenting. That's really cool about your gravecations in Chicago, and New Orleans. I've been to Chicago, a multitude of times over the years, as I've got relatives who live there. Plus since I'm from Detroit, the Chicago trips are usually a lot more do able. I've documented my gravecation adventures in Chicago as well. Just checkout the "Gravecation's" category for the Chicago adventure trips. Those articles are some of the original articles I've published on the blog under that category. As for New Orleans, I've always wanted to visit there but never had the opportunity, NOLA is definitely on the list of places to checkout. As for L.A. I've been there twice within the last two years, I also plan to relocate there in the next few years.
